This simple product solves a number of minor issues by sealing the area around the doors:
- Prevents air leakage to maintain integrity of the air-conditioning
- Prevents dust from being sucked into the car
- Prevents whistling noises caused by air leakage around the door
- Improves the door shutting sound, making it sound softer
- Prevents airborne noise from entering the saloon
Cord Composition: Rubber w/ Reinforced Core vs. Silicon
The silicon composition makes the cord much stronger i.e. the force needed to tear the product is ten fold as compared to rubber and the aluminium wire used in Reinforced Core model is not required, slightly reducing the weight and increasing the insulation properties. Silicon model is also covered in talcum powder, which makes it more slippery, easing the installation process as well as making the distribution of force more even for better results. The overall compression resistance is similar for both models. Reinforced core can however be of an advantage during the installation allowing for easy hooking when pulling the cord through, so some installers prefer to use the rubber with reinforced cored model. Here is a sample video from one out our partners of the installation:
